🥾 The most beautiful trails to admire the autumn foliage in Ledro Valley

Hearing the crunch of leaves beneath your boots and letting yourself be enveloped by the scents of the forest is a true natural therapy. Here are four scenic walks to enjoy during this time of year:

1. Bezzecca Belvedere: the view over the Valley just a stone’s throw away

• • Starting point: Directly from Villaggio Val Molini (no need for a car)

  • Duration: ~2 hours (Round trip)

  • Elevation gain: ~150 m

  • Difficulty: Moderate

  • The Experience: A pleasant walk starting right from our bungalows and apartments. Ascending toward the Belvedere hill in Bezzecca, the view spans the village rooftops and the valley slopes changing color, offering an authentic and immediate autumn panorama.

 

2. Val Concei: the valley trail to Rifugio al Faggio

• • Distance from Villaggio Val Molini: ~10 minutes by car to Lenzumo

  • Duration: ~2 hours and 30 minutes (Round trip)

  • Elevation gain: ~180 m

  • Difficulty: Easy / Suitable for everyone

  • The Experience: Val Concei is one of Trentino’s most pristine green havens. Walking along the valley floor path flanked by centuries-old beech trees turning orange and copper, until you reach the historic Rifugio al Faggio, offers a feeling of total immersion in the quiet of the woods.

 

3.Lake Ledro Loop

• • Distance from Villaggio: ~5 minutes by car (parking in Pieve di Ledro)

  • Duration: ~3 hours (complete loop, ~10 km)

  • Elevation gain: Flat

  • Difficulty: Easy

  • The Experience: Walking around the lake perimeter allows you to admire the mountains reflected in the crystal-clear waters. The Pur area, in particular, is characterized by beech woods and broadleaf trees that transform the lakeside walk into an extraordinary palette of colors.

 

4. Malga Cita and Ledro Land Art

• • • Distance from Villaggio: ~8 minutes by car to Piana di Pur

    • Duration: ~1 hour and 30 minutes (park loop)

    • Elevation gain: ~80 m

    • Difficulty: Easy

    • The Experience: In the Pur forest, sculptures made of wood and natural materials by Ledro Land Art merge with the surrounding nature. Continuing toward the Malga Cita plain, the walk becomes a poetic blend of art and autumn nature, perfect for families as well.

 

 

🧀 A tasteful autumn: local traditions and flavors

Autumn in Ledro Vally and Garda Trentino is also savored at the table, through traditional recipes and village festivals celebrating the harvest and rural life.

The Month of Taste (Mese del Gusto): a food and wine journey in Garda Trentino

From late September throughout October, our region becomes the setting for the Mese del Gusto. Restaurants, taverns, wineries, and oil mills open their doors with dedicated menus and themed experiences designed to showcase local zero-km products. It is the ideal season to enjoy warm, comforting dishes: fragrant Storo polenta, porcini mushrooms gathered in our forests, raw milk alpine cheeses, renowned carne salada, and chestnut desserts. A path of tastings, guided visits to oil mills, and gourmet dinners where every dish tells the story of Trentino’s farming heritage.

The San Michele Fair in Pieve di Ledro

Among the most cherished and traditional events in the valley, the San Michele Fair stands out. Held on September 26th in Pieve di Ledro (just 5 minutes from our Villaggio), this festival has represented the symbolic return of livestock from summer pastures for generations.

Walking through the streets of the village, you will experience a lively and festive atmosphere:

• • Farmers’ market and handicrafts: Stalls rich in local produce, typical cheeses, cured meats, mountain honey, and handcrafted wooden items.

  • Cattle exhibition and traditions: The parade of festive decorated animals, accompanied by folk songs, musical entertainment, and workshops to rediscover ancient crafts.
