GARIBALDI
ON THE TRACKS OF HISTORY
Garibaldi AND Bezzecca
AN ANCHORED LINK IN HISTORY BOOKS
In 1866 Garibaldi sent the telegram with the words “Obbedisco” from Bezzecca, after having received the order to abandon his plan to invade Trentino and to leave for retreat. The battles fought in Valle di Ledro during the 1800s are part of the history of Italy. However, they are not the only ones. The territory was the scene of war conflicts during the First World War. Testimony of these events is the war front which is visible along the alpine arc and is indicated by the Path of Peace.
